For Csncun, this beach was very calm and was one of the only places where you could actually get in the water (most of the ocean facing hotel strip is red flag all the time). The chairs were a bit overpriced ($37US), but the staff was nice and friendly. It did get a bit crowded as the day went on - if you want to be able to pick your spot (and enjoy some quiet time), I would recommend arriving before 9...then you get about 2 hours where it is completely dead. Around 11, it picks up quite a bit. I don't regret going though, and never felt like it was uncomfortably packed. Also - DEFINITELY recommend the restaurant right behind the chairs (by the shower area)....the food was awesome AND they serve you right on the beach if you have rented a chair.

A small beach packed with people from nearby hotels. Pros: Gorgeous white sand Plenty of shops and eateries around Cons: Overcrowded The pier serves a ferry that frequently travels back and forth, which isn't eco-friendly Renting an umbrella and two loungers costs 650 MXN (about $35 USD) Conclusion: Not the top beach in Cancun, but it's decent

THIS IS THE BEST PUBLIC BEACH IN CANCUN - We tried just about all of them. But you have to know where to go: park somewhere around the super Chedraui (where the public entrance is) and walk from the entrance all the way down the beach towards Riu Palace - past two or three short piers. (Most people don't walk down towards the hotels and congregate near the public entrance but the water is dirtier there. Keep going. Take a pic on the pier. Water is so blue. Riu Palace has the best section of the beach but don't be intimidated by all their chairs all over the beach. Just find a spot and hop in the water. We went here twice and nobody said anything about us being there. Bring your snorkels and head out a little ways to find big concrete blocks and rocks in the water where fish live. The water is deep but fairly calm. Stay til sunset for the pastel beach sunset colors. Be aware, we didn't find any public showers or restrooms near this beach, so you could possibly sneak a shower from one of the hotels on your walk back towards the entrance but we didn't try. The next best one is in front of Hotel Casa Maya - enter from the Playa Langosta entrance and walk down the beach til you find the blue chairs and umbrellas. The water is clearer than a pool and white sand, shallow and perfect for kids.

It is a small crowded beach. Too many people from nearby hotels. Parts of the beach are blocked off as private property. But overall it is a good beach to swim and have fun! Pretty clean.

Don’t get trapped! This is a private beach. Riu Hotel staff was so rude to kick us out from the beach while we just passed by. It’s simply because we wore different colored bracelet from another hotel. How come does a hotel own the beach area?!? This is very disappointing!

Pleasant water… white soft sand, but not big beach to swim Cancun beaches like they said, its beautiful, white sand beaches, smooth water, no harsh waves but where to enter if you don’t have GPS. you need to find the access point for this beach as 80-90% parts are covered by Hotel and only certain spots are available for public swimming. you can find signboard for an access point on the road. Its applied for almost every beach except south ( like Playa Delfines) and extreme north beaches (like Langosta Beach) It’s in front of the supermarket or looks out for Xcaret amusement park office. It’s not big, it’s very small patch of beach, both side big giant Hotel covered the area and you are confused whether to go in to that area or not , what if they ask you to go back, so just for normal evening walk, I would recommend that but for swimming, go to Gaviota Azul Beach (right behind the Hard rock café, coco bongo). I ll write about that in the separate review. We came here for the evening walk, sunset, white clean sand and blue water. It was amazing, we sat there for 30-40 minutes, walked a bit and came back. One can do snorkeling here.

Small beach but good enough to have a good time, downside is it has too many hotels around that you cannot find a place to sit
